International Equal Pay Day

We're looking forward to hosting an evening that will bring together SSE students, alumni and corporate partners around the highly relevant and important topic of equal pay.

Did you know that according to the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap 2022 report, Sweden ranks 45th out of 146 countries on wage equality for similar work?

The event will begin in the Aula where esteemed researchers will introduce the topic and help set the context for the discussion. SSE alum, Karin Hederos, is a nationally recognised expert on gender economics and inequality, based at Stockholm University. Richard Wahlund is The Bonnier Family Professor in Business Administration at SSE and has been responsible for the Employer Image Barometer at the school for many years.

We will also hear from industry expert, Ebba Schwalbe Ekström, who is Compensation and Benefits Manager at SEB. She will bring in a company's persepctive and also share personal reflections.

This will be followed by an interactive Q&A. The panel will be moderated by SSE's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager, Karol Vieker.

You will have the opportunity to participate in an insightful and informed discussion, followed by networking in Atrium where light refreshments will be provided.

This event is intended to shed light on the pay inequality that persists in today's labour market, and to inspire future leaders and workers alike to help balance the scales for a fairer future.
