Evolution of data for development - open lunch meeting
Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (Misum) invites you to a brown bag session on the 'Evolution of data for development' with Erik Wetter.
Almost one third of the SDGs are lacking reliable or relevant data, which is causing major challenges for monitoring and management.
Assistant Professor Erik Wetter has worked for more than 10 years with data for development with fieldwork in Asia and Africa, and is a member of the UN World Data Forum 2020 Program Committee. In this online session he will give context and background to the World Data Forum, some recent trends and developments, and will provide a thought-provoking overview of how data and tech companies are poised to drive a radical transformation of the development sector in the next few years, whether we like it or not.
Erik Wetter is an affiliated researcher at Misum and an assistant professor at the Department of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology (part of House of Innovation) at Stockholm School of Economics. He is part of the Program Committee for the UN World Data Forum taking place online between 19 - 21 October 2020.
