SSE Alumnae awarded for best thesis in economics
16 November, 2017
SSE alumnae Karin Fura and Elsa Horn af Rantzien (MSc in Economics) win the Swedish Competition Authority’s yearly prize for best thesis in economics. The thesis examines the Swedish market of over-the-counter pharmaceuticals following the reform in 2009.
Motivation of the jury
"The thesis examines how competition affects the prices of over-the-counter pharmaceuticals. The question is simple, but as the thesis pedagogically demonstrates, significant methodological sophistication is required to give it a well-founded answer. The thesis is throughout exemplary in its execution, conclusions, empirical method, theoretical awareness and connection to research."
