The Bud Fackler Service Award, established by the EMBA Council, is named after Bud Fackler, who was one of the pioneers within EMBA. He was the program director of the first Executive MBA program, launched by the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1943. He also helped found the EMBA Council in 1981. The award recognizes contributions to the EMBA Council and to EMBA Programs worldwide, including efforts to help other programs, to share best practices, and to raise the quality of EMBA Programs.

Karin Wiström has a solid experience working with the SSE MBA Executive Format. She served four years on the EMBA Council Board of Trustees, one of them as Chair. She has also contributed to grow and engage the European membership and hosted the European regional meeting.

I am very grateful and proud to receive this prestigious award. When I see the list of previous recipients of the Bud Fackler award, I see so many of my heroes and role models and dedicated champions of the EMBA Industry. It has always been a pleasure to serve on the EMBA Council and I find this unique collaboration between schools extremely important. By helping each other we all improve, and so do our programs, and our students and schools benefit.
