The Scania Center for Innovation and Operational Excellence
The partnership between Scania's Research & Development and the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) is the first of its kind: it is not based purely on technology. For a long time, Scania has had a strong partnership with the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, which is their main supplier of technological skills. However, Scania's reach has broadened by deepening their cooperation with SSE.
Scania is a technology-driven company, and as such, they are very successful. Both the industry and the transport sector are facing big changes, and future technology will create totally new business models within the ecosystem that Scania, its customers and partners operate in. That perspective is the focus of the Scania Center for Innovation and Operational Excellence.
The center is managed by Associate Professor Martin Sköld. Along with other researchers, Sköld works with matters connected to the ecosystem of the transport and logistics business.
