Welcome to the Brown Bag Seminar in Economics organized by the Department of Economics, SSE. The seminar speaker is Dominik Wehr, SSE who will be presenting "Firm Pay Premia and On-The-Job Search: Evidence From Linked Survey and Administrative Data"

Abstract

This paper presents new evidence on the incidence of on-the-job search across the distribution of firms, leveraging data from a nationally representative survey linked to Swedish matched employer-employee data. I estimate that a 10 percentage point increase in a firm’s pay premium reduces the likelihood of on-the-job search by 0.94 percentage points—nearly double the effect size observed when considering individual pay alone. Additionally, I demonstrate that non-pecuniary job attributes significantly influence on-the-job search behavior. Analysis of self-reported reasons for job search suggests that most downward job moves are voluntary.

This seminar takes place at Stockholm School of Economics, Sveavägen 65, in room A750.
