How to successfully scale a flat organization - 9 Dec 2021

On December 9th, we will welcomed Assistant Professor Mickaël Buffart in presenting an industry seminar about how to successfully scale a flat organization.

His presentation keynote discussed how many startups today have adopted a “self-directed” model, which includes flat organizational structures, minimal hierarchy, self-management, and an emphasis on empowerment. The seminar aims to show the case of one flat organization that has been successful in scaling up, and some of the hurdles they met.

Mickaël is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology at the Stockholm School of Economics. He received his PhD from Grenoble Ecole de Management and the Université Grenoble-Alpes, France. He studies the role of discourses, texts and talks in strategy making and in entrepreneurial activities.
