Debate: How sustainable is the vulnerable city?
When the prices of electricity, food, accommodation and fuel are increasing massively, people find it difficult to get around. The residents of the cities are forced to live more resource-efficiently by living smaller, reduce their driving and stop non-essential habits such as taking long showers and have the underfloor heating on.
Is it a temporary crisis effect we are experiencing now, or will it lead to a permanent adjustment and an acceptance that our resources are finite? What happens to those city dwellers who can't afford to live in the city anymore? A city with growing exclusion - how smart is it then?
Örjan Sjöberg, professor of economic geography and Head of Research at CSR, will take part in the panel discussion on sustainability and city life among other interesting panellists.
