Interview with HOI's Director Magnus Mähring: AI is already reshaping our lives – are we ready?
AI is already embedded in our daily lives
Whether we realize it or not, AI is playing a major role in how we function. From voice assistants and personalized recommendations to smartwatches tracking our health, AI-powered tools are quietly influencing our decisions - a reliance that is only increasing. Even though we may not think of ourselves as "cyborgs," the technology we use is already an extension of our abilities.
What’s next for AI and society?
As AI continues to evolve, it will shape our interactions, workplaces, and even our personal relationships. This future AI integration will be gradual but profound, leading to new possibilities like neuro-implants that will allow people to control devices with their thoughts.
However, for AI to be a truly positive force, proactive regulation and public awareness are of utmost importance.
"Artificial intelligence offers enormous opportunities but also brings significant
risks. (...) To minimise these risks, ethical guidelines, transparency, and strict
regulation are needed".
