Gerda Mazi Larsson receives this year’s SSE MBA scholarship

For the 18th consecutive year, a scholarship is being awarded for Executive MBA studies at the Stockholm School of Economics. The scholarship of SEK 645,000 is announced by Swedish financial newspaper Dagens Industri in cooperation with the Stockholm School of Economics and Keystone Education Group and recognizes the next generation of leaders, with the purpose of strengthening Swedish competitiveness.

“The purpose of the SSE MBA scholarship is to promote further education and raise the skill level among the next generation of leaders,” says Karin Wiström, Director SSE MBA at the Stockholm School of Economics.

The scholarship is awarded to candidates whose previous achievements and future potential indicate they will benefit optimally from the program. By strengthening their leadership and skills in responsible business and operational development, candidates will be able to benefit their company or organization and be a good ambassador for Sweden. Particular emphasis is placed on candidates’ potential to generate new business through entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship, in Sweden and internationally.

The 2024 SSE MBA scholarship goes to Gerda Mazi Larsson, CEO at Curitas Ventures AB, with the following motivation:

“Gerda is an entrepreneurial, vibrant, and humble leader. She has a broad and strong track record, and a reputation for getting things done. She is recognized as a female future leader and a role model for others. She is the co-founder of "The Case for her", a femtech and women´s health investment portfolio. Gerda is currently the CEO of Curitas Ventures, which identifies, invest and support portfolio companies to accelerate and grow, and she is an active board member in 10+ of these investments. Her aim is to expand their operations further globally. In addition to financial returns, she is committed to incorporating social impact into the investment strategy and is on a mission to show that purposeful leadership equals growth and profitability. Gerda has a unique and diverse background with extensive experience from many different roles and countries. With the new perspectives, insights, and knowledge that Gerda will gain from the SSE MBA program, in combination with her previous experience, she has the potential to successfully take on additional ventures in the future and make a strong impact in Sweden and abroad. She will also contribute greatly to the program and her peers. With her experience, background and potential, Gerda is a highly worthy recipient of the SSE MBA scholarship 2024."

Businesses and investors have a unique opportunity and, in my view, a responsibility to help shape our shared future. Through the SSE Executive MBA, I aim to deepen my strategic leadership, be challenged by my peers, and continue to develop a toolkit for the finance market to leverage investments and entrepreneurship to contribute to a more positive societal development” says Gerda Mazi Larsson.
