Attract agencies to build on Shopify
Founded almost two decades ago, Shopify has been empowering businesses of all sizes to succeed online. The company's story is one of relentless innovation and unwavering dedication to its mission; to be an all-in-one commerce platform, achieving interdependence for merchants while helping start, run, and grow businesses.
With Shopify's infrastructure, merchants can build and expand their businesses, both online and offline. However, they cannot always do it on their own; and this is where the agencies come in. Agencies are the bridge between the company and merchants, serving as specialists of Shopify's software to help merchants evolve their stores.
But why would agencies want to build on Shopify? And how can the company attract more agencies? That was the task for the students to solve.
Students dug into the agency business model and the Shopify partner program before being divided into teams where they began forming ideas. Being instructed to limit their scopes, students had to analyze specific markets and understand what determines platform choice, what competition looks like, as well as where commerce is heading. The teams presented a wide array of ideas, from agency training programs and certificates to financial incentive programs and agency incubators.
