Exciting Porridge - How to inspirit a “boring” segment at Fazer

Retail Management students in Fazer Retail Club had a workshop focusing on ways to introduce a new take on porridge, an innovation in a though and stagnant segment.

Martin Albinsson, Brand Activation Manager, and Beatrice Holmström, Marketing Manager, introduced the students to Frebaco Kvarn, a relatively young member of the Fazer Family. The students were given an introduction to the Swedes breakfast habits and were further given a comprehensive breakdown on what goes into launching a new product, a true teamwork between marketing and sales.

In contrast to previous workshops, the Fazer Retail Club was then introduced to what many might perceive a boring segment, a segment in which introduction of new products is hard and profitability is low, porridge. Despite being a real love-or-hate product among the students, the task, creating a 360-campaign for the new product turned out to be a challenging and exciting workshop for the group.
