SEMINAR: Making the Global Financial System Work for All
During the German Presidency in 2017, G20 appointed an Eminent Persons Group on Global Financial Governance to review the system of international financial institutions. The group had 16 members, 8 from advanced economies and 8 from emerging economies, and was chaired by a representative from the emerging world, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore. The Group delivered its report “Making the Global Financial System Work for All” to the G20 finance ministers and central bank governors in October this year.
Erik Berglöf served on the secretariat of the Eminent Persons Group and will present report and put it in the context of other efforts to reform global financial governance. Karolina Ekholm, Deputy Minister of Finance, and Magnus Lennartsson, Deputy Director General, Global Agenda Department, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, will comment on the report to which the Swedish government has contributed.
The presentation will be introduced by by Torbjörn Becker, Director of SITE, and Emma Sjöström, Deputy Director of Stockholm Sustainable Finance Centre. The presentation is chaired by Torbjörn Becker. Time will be available for questions and answers after the presentation.
