Stockholm School of Economics celebrated the installation of four new professors at the Stockholm City Hall this weekend:

• Stefan Haefliger, House of Innovation
• Valentina Tartari, House of Innovation 
• Martina Björkman Nyqvist, Department of Economics 
• Martin Carlsson-Wall, Department of Accounting

In addition, jubilee doctors (50 years since they earned their doctorate), honorary doctors, and all our fantastic PhD graduates from 2023 and 2024 were honoured.

Martin Carlsson-Wall’s has been a driving force for the Center for Sports and Business and his research explores the intersection between accounting, creativity, sports and emotions.

“Since I joined SSE in 1998, much has improved. We are now a more international and gender-equal school. Academically, we offer courses in happiness, sports, art, and statecraft, and we view individuals and organisations in a more holistic way (mind-body-soul).

At the same time, it's important to understand the traditions, rituals, and subjects that have developed over time. A strong institution is built on BOTH modern innovation and classical values. SSE's mission to "strengthen Swedish competitiveness through research and research-based education" is just as relevant in 2024 as it was when we began in 1909.” says Martin Carlsson-Wall.
