Marie Söderberg awarded for her research on Japan

Marie Söderberg, Director of the European Institute of Japanese Studies (EIJS) at the Stockholm School of Economics, received the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation at the Japanese Embassy on October 5.
The Ambassador, Mr Morimoto, expressed his respect for the great contribution Marie has made during 30 years to enhance the understanding of Japan in Sweden and Europe. He presented the award hoping that Sweden and Japan, celebrating 150 years of diplomatic relations in 2018, will continue to further strengthen the ties in the academic field as well as in other areas.
