SSE Masters Degree Scholarship Funded by SSE Alumni in North America

Stockholm School of Economics together with its U.S. alumni chapter, American Friends of SSE, will provide full scholarships for North American students to attend the SSE Master Programs.

In 2016, the Stockholm School of Economics and American Friends of SSE (AFSSE) established a Scholarship Fund as a means to further develop ties between North America and Sweden. The award provides the two-year tuition costs, totaling SEK 300 000 / $33,000 USD, for North American students who have been accepted as a candidate to one of SSE's Master's degree programs.

Thanks to the generosity of alumni donors based in North America, over 720 000 SEK / $80,000 USD has been raised since 2016 and first two scholarship recipients, Daisy Garcia and Christopher Kuo, were selected in 2017 and 2018 respectively. They were awarded their scholarships during the annual AFSSE Valborg dinner in New York City, New York.

Daisy is now in her second and final year of the Masters in International Business program.
Christopher is in the Masters in Business and Management program and is completing his first year.

I believe learning is a life-long process, and I wanted to build upon the foundation I established during my Applied Mathematics and Environmental Economics and Policy Bachelor programs at UC Berkeley. I decided to pursue a Master’s program at SSE to gain a new perspective on international business and challenge myself further."
Daisy Garcia, 2017 AFSSE Scholarship recipient
I thought I would learn more about innovation at SSE, but it has completely flipped everything I have learned upside down in a good way – even in my short time here so far! Staying in the U.S. as an American would have been a safe and comfortable route to business education, but I am getting so much more out of my SSE education."
Christopher Kuo, 2018 AFSSE Scholarship Recipient

We encourage you to read more about the AFSSE Scholarship Fund, as well as about our inspiring recipients, Daisy and Chris, and their time at SSE.

As an international business school based in Sweden, SSE recruits talented students from all over the world to attend its Master's programs. In 2017 50% of SSE's Master's students were from countries outside of Sweden.

The American Friends of SSE (AFSSE), www.americanfriendsofsse.org, is a U.S. non-profit organization for alumni, friends, and supporters of SSE living in North America. The organization actively promotes alumni networking opportunities, as well as supports current students in obtaining internships or jobs in the U.S. and Canada. AFSSE also provides a locally based way for alumni and friends to support SSE financially.
