SSE research on the Altmetric top 100 list of 2018

Almetric tracks scholarly articles published each year, and comes up with a top 100 list based on citations, discussions on research blogs, mainstream media coverage, social network coverage, etc.

The top 100 list this year features SSE research on place # 83.

The research, titled “Evaluating the replicability of social science experiments in Nature and Science between 2010 and 2015”, was published in Nature Human Behaviour by among others SSE researchers Anna Dreber, Magnus Johannesson, Adam Altmejd, Emma Heikensten and Siri Isaksson from the Department of Economics. In this paper, the authors explore to what extent 21 studies published in Nature and Science between 2010 and 2015 replicate in high powered replications.

The authors find a significant effect in the same direction as the original study for 13 out of 21 studies, and using prediction markets and surveys they find that researchers can predict which results will replicate.
