Business leaders decide on 8 new companies
Today, 8 new startups are entering the prestigious incubator which has tech companies like Klarna, Voi Technology, Scrive and Budbee in its portfolio. Five of the companies are entering the 8-week long acceleration program Activate, while three are entering the incubation program Incubate, where they can be for up to 18 months.
To get a spot in the incubator, the companies first had to impress the experienced Board of Admissions, consisting of Sebastian Knutsson, Anna Stenberg, Sven Hagströmer, Donna Hanafi, Lisa Lindström, Mattias Miksche, Mernosh Saatchi and Magnus Mähring. They did this flawlessly, as they were chosen among the many companies which had applied with the gruelling competition this meant.
Business leader and Board professional Sven Hagströmer, one of the members of the new board, is very content with the chosen companies.
“To these companies, getting accepted into SSE Business Lab is a huge milestone, but hopefully it’s just the first step of a long and successful journey. I’m convinced that the teams we chose have what it takes to succeed”, he says.
SSE Business Lab’s CEO, Julia Delin, agrees.
“I’m very eager to start working with these companies. In several cases they are brave enough to address massive structural issues like climate change, the housing market and integration. The bigger the issue you address, the bigger is the potential, so it’s going to be very exciting to see how far these companies can go, she says.
In the incubator, the companies will get support through coaching, workshops, mentoring, partner network, investor networks and more. All startups with a team member who is a student, alumni or faculty member of the Stockholm School of Economics can apply to the incubator. Read more on SSE Business Lab’s website, ssebl.com.
