Tor Bonnier has been awarded the SIR Research Award

SIR Research Award is an annual award introduced in 1992 to draw attention to people who actively and clearly contributed to research and how research is disseminated to the society. Long term involvement by representatives of the business sector is crucial for the successful research at Stockholm School of Economics.

Previous recipients include Antonia Ax:son Johnson, Fredrik Lundberg, Marie Ehrling, Jacob and Marcus Wallenberg, Carl Bennet, and Stefan Persson.

This year the recipient of the SIR Research Award is Tor Bonnier, Chairman of the Karl-Adam Bonnier Foundation. As chairman of the board of The Karl-Adam Bonnier Foundation, Tor Bonnier has demonstrated that support for research can come in many forms, and that creativity, proactivity, and entrepreneurial initiative can enable an organization to achieve research impact beyond size – showing that similar dynamics can apply to research funding and donors as to innovation and entrepreneurship in business.

The Award was officially delivered during an online event on April 15. During the seminar, Globala Affärer: Tidlösa principer och Strategiska Ramverk written to honor Tor Bonnier was presented. The new book written by Sara Melén Hånell, Emilia Rovira Nordman, Daniel Tolstoy and Erik Wetter, discusses how Swedish firms can go global in this new era.
