Lars Strannegård among this year's hosts on Sommar i P1

SSE President Lars Strannegård has been selected to speak on Swedish Radio's program Sommar i P1. He will share his thoughts on the importance of the fundamentally human, as machines are becoming smarter by the day.

SSE President Lars Strannegård has made a name for himself in Sweden as a staunch campaigner for the arts and their importance in education and business as well as society as large. Since before he started his tenure as president of SSE, he has worked to integrate culture into the educational environment. In 2022, he was awarded the Humtank Prize for his tireless work in promoting the humanities and their importance to society and the individual.

“When machines become smarter, humans must become more human,” he says.

This summer he has been selected to speak on Swedish Radio about his passion for the fundamentally human, as machines are becoming smarter by the day. The program Sommar i P1 is a veritable institution in Sweden, that has been broadcasted every summer since 1959. Some of the year’s most interesting speakers are invited to share their personal thoughts and stories with millions of listeners.

For our Swedish-speaking friends out there, you can listen to Lars Strannegård on July 16 on Swedish Radio (SR P1). You’ll find a list of all the hosts and watch a video on https://sverigesradio.se/sommarvinterip1
