On May 11 the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) and the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs organized Development Day 2015 at the Stockholm School of Economics. As in previous years, the conference gathered a mix of international scholars and practitioners from the public, private and civil society sectors. We hope that all of more than 100 participants enjoyed the conference and we will meet again next year at Development Day 2016.

The Global Swede award has been presented to Dariy Antonyuk, student at the MSc in Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics. Global Swede is presented to international students who distinguished themselves in areas closely related to innovation and entrepreneurship by the Swedish Institute and the Swedish Government.

The Stockholm School of Economics announces Rally for SSE! - a 24-hour giving day which will take place from September 30 to October 1. SSE aims to raise 1 MSEK from alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends to support entrepreneurship at SSE.

The Russian economy is facing serious challenges in 2015 even after the currency and stock market have strengthened on the back of (expectations of even) higher oil prices. Policy makers that ignore these challenges may be in for a rude awakening when more statistics on the real economy are now coming in.

Student ambassadors from SSE have cooperated with the students association at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Kenya to study corruption in developing economies.
