1. What is the attraction of doing research?
I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at Copenhagen Business School. Most of my time I spend doing research, but I also teach a bit.
2. What is the attraction of doing research?
I enjoy learning new things, but when doing research, you are not only learning things that are new to you, the objective is to learn things that are new to the world. It is an intellectually stimulating environment, where you have the flexibility to pursue the questions you find the most interesting and important.
3. Why did you choose to do your PhD at SSE?
Being from Stockholm and having studied, pursuing a PhD at SSE was very natural once I decided I wanted to do a PhD. I would recommend the PhD program at SSE to students who want to be surrounded by excellent researchers, where expectations on the students are high but where you are also given the foundations to pursue your interests. As a PhD student, you receive great training through the coursework and excellent support and resources from the faculty and the department.
4. Following the time at SSE, do you have any words of wisdom or advice you would like to share with our current students?
Be proactive, pursue your interest. Find the joy in doing research, but remember that as a researcher you also need grit.
