Lars Strannegård

Appointed by SHoF in 2014

Lars Strannegård is the President of the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). SSE’s Department of Finance is one of SSE’s departments and forms the academic backbone of SHoF.

Lars uniquely provides expertise on the general view of SSE and perspective on how SHoF is part of SSE’s general strategy. To him, SHoF’s operations are inspiring to the rest of SSE and he emphasizes how SHoF’s modus operandi shows that there is no contradiction between world class research and everyday practical relevance.

In a world overflowing of opinions, Lars underlines that it is more important than ever to have a fact and science based mindset. He considers himself very privileged to take part in the astonishing progress of SHoF. “The team at SHoF continues to deliver excellent results, both in terms of research and outreach. This of course also contributes vastly to the teaching in finance at SSE.”
