Post-Doctoral Position in Corporate Finance

The Department of Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics seeks applications for a two-year post-doctoral position in corporate finance funded by the Wallenberg Foundation. The expected start date is 1 July 2020.
The post-doc position will enable an outstanding early-career economist to visit the department for two years of intensive research. The successful candidate is expected to be based full time in Stockholm for the duration of the position and to actively participate in the department’s activities. 50% of the post-doc position is devoted to collaborating on research projects with faculty, from conceptualization through to publication. There is no teaching requirement.
Job qualifications
Applicants should (by the time of their appointment) be recent PhD graduates with a strong interest and research experience in corporate finance. They should have a deep and proven knowledge of the empirical methods and tools used in corporate finance. Good to excellent programming skills in Stata/SAS and Matlab/R are expected. Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Natural Language Processing are a plus. Excellent spoken and written English is a requirement.

With generous grants from the government and the private sector, the Swedish House of Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics supports our research infrastructure, including an active visitors program both for domestic and international researchers, a national PhD course program in finance, and a data center that locates, collects, maintains and administers data that supports research in finance.
The department has an active post-doc program. Recent “graduates” of the post-doc program have secured job offers from the likes of London Business School.

Three assistant professors will be joining the department in the fall.
