Nov. 05, 2020
We are pleased to welcome Professor Olav Sorenson as an Erling Persson Visiting Professor starting in the academic year 2021/2022. The Erling Persson Visiting Professor is a joint program between the House of Innovation (HOI) and the Swedish House of Finance (SHoF).
Professor Sorenson’s primary affiliation is with the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he holds the Joseph Jacobs Chair in Entrepreneurial Studies. He also works as Professor of Strategy and as Faculty Research Director at the Price Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. His primary stream of research pertains to economic geography, focusing on how entrepreneurship influences the growth and competitiveness of regions within countries and why some regions appear more supportive to entrepreneurs than others.
While at SSE, Professor Sorenson is set to work on research activities, give seminars, and collaborate with resident faculty at HOI and SHoF. Corona virus notwithstanding, he intends to visit SSE several times during next academic year.
