Trill Impact to fund Swedish House of Finance research in sustainable finance
Dec. 16, 2022
Trill Impact has agreed to initiate a collaboration and provide financial support to the Swedish House of Finance (SHoF). Some of the funding provided by the private investments firm will be dedicated to a conference on climate and finance next year.
The Swedish House of Finance (SHoF) welcomes Trill Impact as the center’s new corporate partner. “We are delighted that Trill Impact has decided to support us,” says Bo Becker, Director of the Swedish House of Finance. “A solid commitment by the financial sector is important for the Swedish House of Finance in order to continue to deliver research that is both competitive at the highest international level, and at the same time of high relevance to market players."
Trill Impact was founded in 2019 by Jan Ståhlberg, former deputy CEO and vice chair of EQT Partners. The private investment firm invests in businesses with the potential to deliver measurable environmental and social impact, while generating market-rate financial returns. Trill Impact is today one of the largest impact investing houses in Europe. Ståhlberg is part of SHoF’s advisory board.
By partnering with the Swedish House of Finance, the funding will contribute to the further development of financial research, not least in in the field of impact and ESG, as the organization will also sponsor SHoF’s “Harnessing Finance for Climate” conference in May 2023.
"I believe the Swedish financial industry needs to attract more globally leading researchers in the field of finance. Having an academic platform where academics and financial services practitioners can meet and exchange insight and experience, also after graduation, is also essential for the development of the industry. I’m convinced that the Swedish House of Finance will remain a leading discussion forum on matters of importance to the Swedish financial industry for many years to come,” says Ståhlberg.
