Studyplaces at SSE

During 2025, the SSE Aula and Library will undergo renovations, and both locations will be closed. To compensate, a pop-up library and additional study spaces will be made available to students.

Pop-up library

During the renovation, a pop-up library will be located at Saltmätargatan, on the entrance floor. The following resources and services will be available:

Course Books
All course books will be available to students with a 7-day loan period.

Pick-up Shelf
You will be able to pick up reserved books and materials.

Self-Service Machine
You can borrow and return books when the library isn't staffed.

Library Info Desk
The pop-up will be staffed, exact hours will be announced.

Student IT Support (SITS)
Student IT support will be available in the pop-up, offering their usual services.

The library will be open 24/7 but an access card is needed to enter the building.

Temporary study places

A320 on Sveavägen will be transformed into a quiet reading room with approximately 50 seats.
The Bunker (B103) on Saltmätargatan will be uppgraded. All computers will be removed as whiteboards and screens will be installed. A pantry for students with microwaves and a coffee machine will be made available on floor 6 or 7 at Saltmätargatan.
Studentpalatset will open in early 2025, offering approximately 56 study spaces in groups of four.
Two group rooms on Sveavägen will be available for booking in Timeedit, they are located next to Torsten and Ragnar.

Renovation timeline

December 20, 2024

The Library and Atrium will close after which construction will commence.

August 2025

The Aula is expected to be completed in time for the start of the semester.

October 2025

The library is planned to be completed in time for the examens.
