AI Assistant in the library catalog
Overview
The Research Assistant is a generative AI-powered tool. It helps you search the library catalog and provides summaries of the five most prominent academic sources. The answers are based on the resources available at the SSE library.
Where to find it?
The AI assistant is a feature in the library's search tool. You'll see the heading Research Assistant (beta) close to the left top corner. The AI tool can only be accessed through the library, and you'll have to log in to use it.
How to use it?
For the best results, ask the AI assistant clear and detailed questions about specific academic topics like:
-
How does inflation affect student spending habits in Stockholm?
It's important to provide enough context as the assistant does not allow you to ask follow-up questions. However, all search queries will be saved between sessions, you can revisit them if needed.
The AI understands questions in different languages, but the output is primarily in English. When asked a question the AI assistant will provide:
-
An overview of the topic and the five sources that best address your query.
-
Citations for these top five sources with the option to view more results.
-
Related research questions, giving you the option to explore related topics.
