Oscar Rundqvist Interview
Can you describe your current role?
I’m the CEO and co-founder of eComID, where we aim to support the fashion industry in overcoming the product returns challenge, and improving the shopping experience for customers.
What is the most exciting/rewarding part of your work?
To work with the best people I've ever met in various fields (design, tech, product etc.), focused on solving challenges for fashion brands, benefiting the environment, and improving the shopping experience for customers - a true win-win-win situation.
As a successful entrepreneur, what do you see as the most important aspects to consider in terms of creativity and innovation?
I believe the key aspects of creativity and innovation are surrounding yourself with people you truly enjoy and can learn from, and focusing on solving a problem you know well and are passionate about.
How do you see eComID contributing to a more sustainable future, and what advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs in this space?
The eComID technology is designed to enable brands to collaborate and enhance shopping experiences. I genuinely believe that collaborative innovation is the key to real change, much like how solutions like Swish have transformed our money transfer habits. My advice to entrepreneurs in fashion tech is to thoroughly understand the brands and establish effective feedback loops while developing their solutions.
In what ways do you still feel connected to SSE?
I still feel a strong connection to SSE through the incredible people I met during those years. Many of them, including one of my eComID co-founders Alexander Real, are now some of my closest friends.
What is the best career advice you have received/what career advice would you give to current SSE students that are interested in becoming entrepreneurs/more generally?
Find something you’re passionate about. I don’t want my work to feel like work; I want it to feel like a hobby. That’s exactly how I feel right now as we build amazing fashion tech solutions, solving meaningful industry problems, with an extremely talented and warm-hearted team.
