HOW CAN I MAKE A GIFT?

SSE makes it easy by offering a variety of ways to give. Information on how to make a donation by credit card, Swedish Bank Transfer, Swish or International Bank Transfer can be found here.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE?

You can give at levels such as 250;-, 500:-, 1000:-, 5000:- SEK or more. You can also make a one-time or monthly donation. There is no specific amount you have to give. It's up to you to decide! We appreciate your participation, therefore a gift of any amount is valued.

HOW IS SSE FUNDED TODAY?

Support from Alumni and friends is important because SSE is a private university and depends on non-public funding sources. About 16% of the income comes from the Swedish Government, 26% from the Stockholm School of Economics Association, 4% from our corporate partners and 54% from other funding sources, such as foundations and alumni.

WHAT HAVE PREVIOUS DONATIONS SUPPORTED?

Previous donations have been instrumental in advancing various key areas at SSE, including:

  • World-Class Research: Funding groundbreaking studies, research centers, and professorships that shape the future of business and economics to strengthen Swedens competitivenes
  • Art Classrooms: Creating inspiring spaces to facilitate flexible teaching and learning. 
  • Literary Agenda: Giving SSE students the opportunity to participate in book circles and author’s talks led by faculty, staff and PhD students. To promote self-reflection, empathy and cultural literacy among students.
  • Corporate Partner Program: Strengthening ties between academia and the business community to benefit students and businesses alike

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH MY GIFT INFORMATION?

Once you make a gift, you will receive a gift acknowledgement letter via email or post. If you require additional inforamtion for your taxes, then please let us know. If you make a financial contribution to SSE, you have the option for your name and the amount that you contributed to be anonymous. All donor information is private and is kept in accordance with all Swedish privacy laws.

WHAT IF I LIVE IN THE UNITED STATES AND WANT TO DONATE?

If you are a United States citizen or permanent resident and would like to make a donation, we encourage you to make your gift to the American Friends of SSE, a 501c3 organization. This will ensure you can deduct your donation from your taxes. More information available here.

WHAT IF I LIVE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND WANT TO DONATE?

If you are a United Kingdom citizen or permanent resident and would like to make a donation, we encourage you to make your gift to the UK Friends of SSE, a registered charity organization. This will ensure you can deduct your donation from your taxes. More information available here.
