Tamm Hallström, Kristina
Department of Management and Organization
Associate professor Kristina Tamm Hallström is lecturer in management at the Stockholm School of Economics and research director at the Stockholm Centre for Organizational Research (Score). Her research includes the organization and legitimizing of transnational standard setting in the fields of quality management, accounting and corporate social responsibility with the multi-stakeholder logic often used in this latter field. In her current research project (In search of the "good" market actor. De-coupling and interests in social auditing, funded by Formas) she examines certification and accreditation practices regarding compliance with sustainability standards. One of the research topics focused regards the organizational preparations of organizations in becoming 'auditable', and more specifically the establishment of categories for their 'relevant stakeholders', which typically is characterized by consideration to, and balances of, conflicting values. Another research topic explored, which is linked to accreditation and certification practices, regards the organization and continuous efforts of certification auditors and the profit-making auditing firms they work for, to establish and maintain legitimacy through the provision of independent, professional auditing services.
