Baldauf, Christoph

Christoph Baldauf is an Assistant Professor of Marketing Analytics at the Center for Retailing. With a background in operations management, his work concerns empirical research at the intersection of marketing and operations. In particular, he studies how logistics/operations impact customer behavior in online and omnichannel retail. Christoph’s thesis earned the Doctoral Dissertation Award from the Association of European Operational Research Societies. Additionally, he is recipient of the esteemed Jan Wallander and Tom Hedelius Postdoctoral Fellowship. In his research, Christoph has collaborated with various national and international retailers. His work has been published in leading academic journals, including Management Science and the Journal of Operations Management.

Christoph earned his Ph.D. from Stockholm University, which included a six-month research stay at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Porto, Portugal. He also holds an M.Sc. in Operations Management & Control from Stockholm University, during which he studied one term at UNSW Business School at the University of New South Wales, Australia. Prior to Stockholm, Christoph gained academic and professional experience in several international settings, including Germany, China, the Netherlands, and the United States. At the Stockholm School of Economics, he currently serves as the faculty representative of the E-commerce Retail Club.
