Jelena Angelis, PhD, is responsible for research grants and partnerships at the House of Innovation. Her grants application, evaluation as well as research cooperation experience, is backed by a strong research and analytical work at SQW Consulting (regional economic and social development consultancy in the UK), Technopolis Group (a pan-European science, technology and innovation policy advisory), and EFIS Centre (a Brussels-based policy research lab focused on supporting national and regional innovation systems in response to societal challenges). She also brings hands-on work with entrepreneurs through her work at Oxford Innovation, a technology commercialization and business support for high-growth company in the UK.
She has worked on numerous assignments on the inter-related areas of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), and entrepreneurship for such clients as the World Bank, OECD, European Commission, Nordic Innovation, Nordic Council of Ministers, national ministries, innovation agencies, and universities. Her particular interest lies in the topics around innovation ecosystems creation, business-science cooperation, open science and other metrics of research performance, and long-term sustainability and socio-economic impacts of research and specifically research infrastructures.
Jelena holds a PhD from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, focusing on strategic alliances and their performance assessment in the biopharmaceutical sector. She also holds a Certificate in Medical Innovation from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford; a MPhil from the University of Cambridge; and Master’s and BA (Honors) from Vilnius University (Lithuania).
