Art + Sport = Love. SNETT/INÅT/BAKÅT (Terrorboll) by Klas Barbrosson

New art at SSE. The Göteborg based artist Klas Barbrosson is exhibiting his triptych SNETT/INÅT/BAKÅT (terrorboll), 2025, in Stockholm in a collaboration between Stockholm Konst, Svenska Brasserier and Art Initiative. One football (SNETT) has landed outside SSE, one at Sergels torg and one at Café Klotet on Södermalm. This is the first half of the game, runs until May. Then the sculptures move to Luleå for the second half.

New art in the Bonnier Staircases

This January, new artworks were installed in the northern staircase of Sveavägen 65, including works by artists Moa Israelsson, Klara Kristalova, Fredrik Wretman, and last year’s Maria Bonnier Dahlin Foundation grant recipient Erik Thörnkvist.

New exhibition: BeLonging – Michael Rakowitz and the Mesopotamian collection

In the exhibition BeLonging: Michael Rakowitz and the Mesopotamian collection, sculptures by American-Iraqi contemporary artist Michael Rakowitz are shown together with displaced Mesopotamian artifacts from Medelhavsmuseet’s collection, some of them up to 4 500 years old. The video work The Ballad of Special Ops Cody on the big screen in the atrium is part of the exhibition, highlighting both the loss of Middle Eastern cultural heritage and the human suffering imposed by war, political upheaval, and foreign occupation.

Han Kang in the Literary Agenda

South Korean author Han Kang has won the 2024 Noble prize in literature. We have twice enjoyed Han Kang’s novels in the schools reading project the Literary Agenda.

The Hamrin Foundation strengthens Art Initiative with SEK 10 million

The Hamrin Foundation has decided to support Art Initiative at Stockholm School of Economics with with a donation of SEK 10 million: 2.5 million annually for four years. It is an investment in future decision-makers' education and ability to reflect, says Lovisa Hamrin, chairwoman of The Hamrin Foundation.

New art class room by artist Marie-Louise Ekman at SSE

A new art classroom created by the Swedish artist Marie-Louise Ekman has been inaugurated at the school. The classroom contains parts of the artist's own studio, as well as several new original works.

Art Exhibition: Cecilia Parsberg at Handels

Cecilia Parsberg at Handels is an art exhibition based on a doctoral thesis in fine art by Parsberg. It consists of two artworks on five different screens on Sveavägen 65, and it's open from September 21 to October 18.

Literary Agenda Reading List 2023/2024

The Literary Agenda has for five years given SSE students the opportunity to participate in book circles led by faculty, staff and PhD students. We read seven selected books a year. The aim is to promote self-reflection, empathy and cultural literacy among students.
