Ulrika and Staffan Bohman donate 10 million SEK to SSE’s newly launched Faculty Fund
A business school cannot rest on its laurels. To compete on an international market, we need to offer the best in both teaching and research. Investing in faculty is important, but costly. Through the newly launched Faculty Fund, SSE hopes to be able to attract and retain exceptional talents at the School.
Ulrika and Staffan Bohman started their studies at the Stockholm School of Economics in 1969. They met at the School’s Student Union and got married in 1973, the same year as they graduated from SSE. Staffan has had a successful career with top positions in companies and on boards such as Boliden, Alfa Laval, Scania, Atlas Copco and Electrolux. Ulrika worked for many years as a financial analyst at banking firm Öhman, as well as ran her own business. The couple has maintained a close relationship with their alma mater over the years. Staffan was the chairman of the Institute of International Business at SSE for many years, and several of the companies he has worked for have been part of the SSE corporate partnership program. Their donation is a continuation and confirmation of that close connection.
Staffan and Ulrika Bohman say:
“We are highly grateful for our time and education from SSE. We feel that it’s our duty and pleasure to give back and contribute to the School’s future endeavors in higher education.”
Investment in the future
The donation is the first made to the new Faculty Fund.
“We are excited to embark on this new chapter with the generous support of our alumni Ulrika and Staffan Bohman. Their donation will have a significant impact on our future work” says Lars Strannegård, President of the Stockholm School of Economics. “By investing in the brilliance of our faculty, we are investing in the future of our institution and the countless lives it will touch.”
