SSE President Lars Strannegård receives leadership scholarship
This year, Lars Strannegård celebrates ten years as President of the Stockholm School of Economics. During his time as the head of one of Sweden's most prestigious universities, Lars Strannegård has also made a name for himself as a passionate advocate for culture and education, something that permeates many of the activities at the university. This was celebrated yesterday during the annual general meeting of the Swedish Employers’ Alliance, when Lars Strannegård was presented with the award and gave a lecture to members and elected representatives.
During his appearance, Strannegård highlighted how aesthetic experiences can serve as a key to understanding others' experiences, linking larger events with facts, and connecting history with the present.
“I am very happy and honored to receive this scholarship. My vision has always been to create an environment where students, faculty, and staff feel free and motivated to explore, question, and contribute not only to the organization's development but also to that of society,” says Lars Strannegård.
Enthusiastic and visionary
The jury's motivation reads:
“Lars is an enthusiastic and visionary leader. Through Lars' engaging leadership, the Stockholm School of Economics has actively contributed to debates on important social issues. He has also moved the school from a national university with international elements to an international university where diversity is a matter of course.
Art and education are important areas that Lars has worked hard and successfully to bring in and which today are a natural part of the school's character.
Under Lars' leadership, the Stockholm School of Economics ranks highest among business schools in the Nordic countries.”
