The Graduation Ceremony for BSc students 2015 took place in the City Hall of Stockholm on November 7. An occasion for our students to receive and celebrate well-deserved diplomas, and an opportunity to reward outstanding achievements.

Global challenges visualized in new artwork donated to SSE

The new artwork, "Pirate Lane" from 2007 by Clay Ketter, is part of his series Gulf Coast Slabs. This series of photographs registers the foundations of homes which were destroyed by a natural disaster of enormous scale, the hurricane Katrina.

37 MSEK in grants to pioneering research at SSE

The Research School in Accounting (FIRE) is launched

With a two-day workshop at Kämpasten in October, the Research School in Accounting (FIRE) is now officially launched. This research school for ph.d-students is a joint collaboration between SSE, Stockholm University and Uppsala University. It is funded by Jan Wallander & Tom Hedelius’ Foundations and the Torsten Söderberg’s Foundation.

Marie Söderberg awarded for her research on Japan

Marie Söderberg, Director of the European Institute of Japanese Studies (EIJS) at the Stockholm School of Economics, received the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation at the Japanese Embassy on October 5.

Marketing book of the year 2015!

“Marknadsföring och påverkan på konsumenten” edited by Professor Magnus Söderlund, received the Marketing Book of the Year Award by the Swedish Marketing Federation on October 15. The anthology has contributions from twelve marketing researchers at SSE.  

Comment on the Nobel Prize in Economics 2015

The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2015 was awarded to Angus Deaton "for his analysis of consumption, poverty, and welfare". Martina Björkman Nyqvist, Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, is very happy about the choice of this year’s winner, who is a leading researcher in her field of research - Development Economics.
