Misum Forum 2020: COVID Crisis: Increasing inequalities and decreasing investments?
The Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets at the Stockholm School of Economics (Misum) is delighted to invite internal and external stakeholders to the Misum Forum 2020, a half-day interdisciplinary virtual event on sectoral responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This afternoon forum will reflect on what the pandemic has, so far, implied for industry, human capital, business entrepreneurship and how to navigate the emerging long-term sustainability challenges.
Speakers will present new research findings on how the pandemic has impacted human capital such as health and education in vulnerable regions and explore firms ability to continue with or initiate long-term projects that target the transition to a more sustainable way of doing business.
The event narrative will centre on two mechanisms that put sustainability progress at risk during this time of disruption and whether we see 1.) An increase in inequalities and 2.) A decrease in strategic investments by firms. Speakers will investigate to what extent can we see evidence of these outcomes occurring and discuss the responses needed to mitigate them.
