Integrity, Citizenship, Excellence
We aspire to pursue our goals with our three guiding principles – Integrity, Citizenship and Excellence – always in mind.
Integrity
A crucial component of our success lies in the openness of the center. By building strong collaborations and networks across the financial industry, other academic institutions, individual researchers and Ph.D. students both in Sweden and abroad, we are leading the next generation of financial research.
Swedish House of Finance receives research grants and other financial support from both the private and public sector. It is therefore imperative that our undertaken research remains uncompromised and nonpartisan. Our disclosure policy is in place to assure that our researchers conduct their affairs in ways that will not compromise their reputations, nor reflect adversely on the integrity of the Swedish House of Finance.
You can find more information about the organization and activities of the center in our annual report.
Citizenship
The Swedish House of Finance is an open and modern research center, acting as a hub for disseminating knowledge and exchanging ideas. Our research is disseminated through publications, seminars, and conferences in a truly international and highly competitive environment.
By building and maintaining these networks, we are able to bring frontline financial research to Sweden. In Sweden, we teach students and executives, arrange conferences and seminars to academics, policymakers, and the Swedish financial industry. We are optimistic about the impact our research can contribute to society. We promote the sharing of knowledge and cooperation between all researchers in financial economics.
Our researchers regularly contribute to the public discussion and debate, governmental inquiries, and development of the financial sector. We believe in a strong financial eco-system where academia plays an important role in supporting a healthy financial infrastructure.
Excellence
Since 2011, we have positioned ourselves as one of the very top financial research institutions in Europe, if not the world. We have achieved a critical mass of world-class researchers, able to create an impact on society.
We have a long tradition of successful research collaborations with universities all over the world, but also domestic collaborations with other Swedish universities and governmental institutions, such as the Swedish central bank (Riksbanken), and the Swedish FSA (Finansinspektionen). Many of our researchers also serve as advisers to various Swedish government entities such as the Ministry of Finance, the FSA, the National Debt Office and the National Pension Funds (AP funds).
