Skandia with affiliated foundations have decided to support the Swedish House of Finance
nov. 02, 2020
Skandia is joining our strategic partners with the intention to support the center with a total of SEK 5 million over a ten-year period. Skandia's head of asset management Lars-Göran Orrevall will take a seat in the new advisory board.
Swedish House of Finance is a project initiated in 2011 by the Swedish state through Vinnova, the Stockholm School of Economics and the private finance sector in Sweden with the goal of creating a national center for financial research that is competitive at the highest international level. After almost 10 years, the center is considered one of the absolute leaders of its kind in Europe and has thus sought to expand its commitment from the Swedish financial sector for the future.
- We are very pleased of Skandia's support. The fact that Skandia acknowledges the value of our efforts gives us verification of how important financial research is for the business community in Sweden, says Anders Anderson, Director Swedish House of Finance.
The advisory board is under construction and will be a group consisting of representatives from both academia and the private and public financial sector. Skandia’s representative Lars-Göran Orrevall will be able to gain a deeper insight into the research activities, as well as to contribute to discussions at a strategic level and thereby focus on what drives development in the industry.
Skandia and affiliated foundations' main ambition is to contribute to non-profit research in economics, long-term savings, working life-related health and the development of a sustainable financial market.
- This collaboration is part of further strengthening Skandia's role as a research advocate, and at the same time we are able to contribute with our competence and experience to the academic world, says Mattias Munter, head of public affairs at Skandia.
