Using Chat GPT for Research

He highlights how these tools can assist researchers in a variety of tasks that range from generating innovative hypotheses to developing new data analysis methodologies.

AI tools, specifically Large Language Models (LLMs) can help researchers do the following, says Tåg:

• Proofreading academic texts
• Data analysis
• Generating new, testable hypotheses
• Teaching

Despite being very useful for researchers, these tools have limitations, Tåg says, emphasizing the need for human oversight to ensure accuracy and address ethical concerns regarding data privacy.
