Elena Sinico: Gendered inter-organizational networks for the integration of asylum seekers and refugees
In Public Administration, inter-organizational networks typically involve collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, recognized as street-level organizations. Although literature highlights the crucial role of inter-organizational networks in promoting migrant integration pathways, little attention has been given to migrant women’s trajectories, despite their heightened vulnerabilities and unconventional migration patterns.
This paper applies Acker’s Theory of Gendered Organizations (1990) to the study of inter-organizational networks designed to promote the integration of migrants. Although existing literature underscores the gendered nature of organizations, relevant questions remain underexplored—specifically, how inter-organizational networks reinforce or challenge gendered structures. This study, focusing on the role of street-level bureaucrats, seeks to investigate their role in shaping gendered inter-organizational networks for integrating refugees and asylum seekers.
Jesper Blomberg: Improving our OT textbook, incorporating ethics and ICT
While working on the upcoming third edition of his textbook on Organization Theory, Blomberg is currently investigating how to address the phenomena of digitalization, ICT, platform organization and algorithmic control within the existing framework. He will present fresh pieces of text for input and discussion in the seminar.
Elena Sinico is a visiting PhD student from Bologna, and Jesper Blomberg is Associate Professor, both at the Department of Management and Organization.
