Invitation to seminar: What role can business have in vulnerable communities?
Welcome to the exciting seminar on social inclusion! We ask the question of what role the business world can play in improving the conditions for people in vulnerable areas where risks of crime and exclusion are taking over. We will present an academic case study of Boendebyggarna, a collaborative program for job inclusion via internships at construction sites in Vivalla, Örebro.
We hear how Skanska and Örebrobostäder have worked with Boendebyggarna, and what role different stakeholders have taken in the partnership. In addition, we will have a panel discussion on how companies, governmental and civil society can work together to increase inclusion through partnerships. We address how inclusion can be part of companies' sustainability and business strategies as well as how municipalities and regions can best cooperate with business.
Among the questions addressed are: Can differences in viewpoint and expectations between the private and public sector be bridged? How can all parties best contribute to a positive impact on the societal level? How are the partnerships best organized to have clear and measurable results?
