Are inequalities rising and green investments declining due to COVID-19?

What has the pandemic implied for industry, education, innovation so far, and how can we navigate the emerging long-term sustainability challenges? Join the Misum Annual forum on October 7 to hear new evidence in the field.

Date: 7 October 2020
Time: 14:00 to 16:30 CEST
Location: Livestream event. Registration required.

The COVID-19 pandemic has ushered in a new era of complexity, with many social and economic responses amplifying social inequalities and hampering strategic, long-term investments into sustainability. The Misum Forum will explore two mechanisms that put sustainability progress at risk during this time of disruption and whether we see:

  1. An increase in inequalities
  2. A decrease in strategic investments by firms

A line-up of expert speakers will present new research findings on how the pandemic has impacted human capital, such as health and education in vulnerable regions. Industry pioneers will explore firms' ability to continue with or initiate long-term projects that target the transition to a more sustainable way of doing business.

This online afternoon forum is being organised by Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (Misum) at the Stockholm School of Economics. Speakers include Misum affiliated researchers at several SSE departments and institutes, guest researchers and business leaders from across industries. For more information on the speakers and the two sessions, and to register for the event, please visit our forum pages below.
