Metaverse at Accenture

Accenture held a theme lecture in the applied retail track labelled Metaverse X Retail.
Olivia Johansson, Technology Strategist, and Johan Åkerlund, Experience Transformation, from Accenture held a presentation that provided an outside-in perspective of what the metaverse is to inspire and spark discussion.
Students were asked how much they are involved with the metaverse as well as their own views on the topic. They thoroughly went through the metaverse continuum, which includes a wide spectrum of technology, such as augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), virtual reality (VR), 3D worlds. Furthermore, they discussed the four trends that are shaping the metaverse; WebMe, A programmable world,, The Unreal, and Computing the impossible.
