Exploring Traceability and Circularity with GS1 Sweden
Jonatan Tullberg shared insights on how GS1's business model creates a universal "language" through standards for identifying products. These standards form the backbone of circular business models by enabling the seamless flow of information through the supply chain.
A key focus of the session was the transformative potential of traceability tools. Students explored how QR codes on garments, for example, provide consumers with essential information to care for, repair, and resell items. Visionary initiatives, such as Filippa K's goal to track garments from sheep farm to end-of-life, exemplify how businesses are leveraging traceability to align with the EU Green Deal's vision for sustainable products to become the norm by 2027.
Thanks to Jonatan Tullberg and GS1 Sweden for hosting this theme lecture and sharing your expertise in creating the building blocks for a circular economy!
