Merchandising and Campaign planning at H&M

The Retail Management students in H&M Retail Club had a workshop on merchandising and campaign planning at H&M's Head Office in Stockholm city.

Giulia Passaro, North Europe Regional OMNI Merch Manager, and Josefin Edman, North Europe Regional Commercial Business Analyst, held a presentation about what working as a merchandiser at H&M can look like. The presentation included discussions about how merchandise planning across different regions is managed, what KPIs are essential, and how to simultaneously plan proper campaigns.

Students then had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of merchandising complexities by stepping into the role of merchandisers at H&M. They were tasked with developing their own commercial plans and inventory optimization strategies.

Among the student proposals were different inventory adjustments, such as discounts and reallocation of products based on essential KPIs, combined with supporting marketing campaigns.

Thank you Emma Hüll, Early Careers Partner at H&M Group, for arranging and a big thank you to Giulia and Josefin for an inspiring and well-organized workshop!
