SITE seminar on Russian reforms
The seminar will address the issues of reforms in Russia, which once again is on top of the policy discussions in the country. Several groups are currently working on reform proposals to revitalize the Russian economy to generate growth and government revenues while reducing dependence on the natural resource sector. The seminar will include two presentations followed by a discussion and Q&A session. The first presentation, by Torbjörn Becker, will focus on the need for reforms from an economics perspective and the second presentation, by Stephen Fortescue, will discuss the political process for reforms in Russia.
Professor Stephen Fortescue retired in late 2013 from UNSW and is currently a guest researcher at SITE where he continues his research into the Russian policy process and its mining and metals sector.
Time will be available for questions and answers after the presentation.
