DigiExam takes the Swedish National Examinations into the digital age

The company DigiExam started their operation at SSE Business Lab. Its digital application made it possible for secondary school students to use their laptops when writing their National Examinations in “Svenska C” earlier this year.

"Students tend to be creative, but when they use our application they can only access the exam, nothing else. If they open another program they first need to complete the exam", says Johan Hägglund, one of the co-founders.

Johan Hägglund and Nima Marefat, two SSE alumni, started the company at SSE Business Lab in 2011 with the purpose of making digital examinations available for everyone. Stockholm School of Economics has used this technology for some time, but it was only this summer the company launched its commercial version.

Since then, the company has grown from three to 11 employees and continues to expand. Currently more exams are placed on the DigiExam platform each day than during the first month after its launch.

According to Johan Hägglund, the company will focus on new functions for the teachers. They also have plans to expand outside the Nordic Countries.
