Original sustainability ideas leads SSE team to the win!

We are proud to announce that four of our students at Stockholm School of Economics are the winners of the 2015 Nespresso Sustainability MBA Challenge. This third edition attracted more students than ever before and in total 86 student teams from different business schools and universities participated, from all over the world.

This year, the focus was set on the theme of circular economy. The students were asked to develop ideas to engage consumers in the circular economy – a concept coined as an alternative to the traditional economy – through a dedicated proposition and explore how this can create opportunities for Nespresso.

In the final, our team competed against one team from Europe International Business School in China and Rollins College, Crummer Graduate School of Business in USA. Finally the winners were proclaimed, by a professional jury of sustainability experts including Nespresso executives, who honored the winning team for their original and integrated approach. The SSE team "The Northerners" consisted of Bob Den Hartog, Clara Nordlander, Chris Royle and Sandra Tersluisen, who all are International Business/Master’s students.

"The MBA Challenge is a great opportunity to enlist the next generation of business leaders to develop and share their ideas to see how they can complement our thinking, particularly in terms of engagement of consumers in the circular economy", says Jean-Marc Duvoisin, CEO of Nestlé Nespresso.
